Yilmaz receives COE Lumley Award

Congratulations to Alper Yilmaz, CEGE Associate Professor, and the entire Team Nuclear Analytics - Tunc Aldemir (MAE), Umit Catalyurek from Biomedical Informatics (College of Medicine) and ECE, and Richard Denning, formerly of MAE, who received the College of Engineering 2015 Lumley Interdisciplinary Research Award.

Team Nuclear Analytics uses their interdisciplinary expertise in computer imaging, nuclear engineering, data mining in high dimensional data, and high performance computing to study the probabilistic risk assessment of nuclear power plants and nuclear proliferation issues.

The College of Engineering annually honors faculty members for outstanding teaching and research at the Distinguished Faculty Awards. The 2015 awardees were recognized on April 23 in the Blackwell ballroom.
