Students in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering (CEGE) are diverse, inquisitive and engaged in experiential learning.

CEGE prepares students for professional careers where they will address the requirement to balance environmental health with growing societal needs for natural resources, sustainable infrastructure and services. The senior capstone course is a culminating course where students work collaboratively in small groups to solve one of these real world problems.

Points of Pride

17 countries around the world represented by CEGE students
30 % of CEGE students are women

Points of Pride

88 % of CEGE students gain experience outside of the classroom

CEGE students gain this "outside of the classroom experience" through internships, co-ops, research or part-time work opportunities in addition to being involved in student chapters of prominent associations like ASCE, ACI, SEA and SEE.

Participation in these and other groups give students the opportunity to engage with industry professionals and alumni and to compete with fellow students as part of specialized,
project teams.
