Biography

Dr. Hur received her MS and PhD degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. She is a registered Professional Engineer in California, U.S. and registered Professional Structural Engineer in South Korea. She worked as a project engineer in structural engineering firms, and has led and participated in various research projects. Dr. Hur mentored UGs and Grads for nearly 10 years, and received the Lumley Interdisciplinary Research Award from the College of Engineering in 2020. She has been a member of Undergraduate Research Committee in the College of Engineering since 2017 and she is a founding member of the Departmental Undergraduate Research Committee. Dr. Hur is a recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Engineering Educator Awards by the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE). It recognizes her contribution to teaching, research, professional service and outreach to the community.
