Gil Bohrer to serve as Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) program manager

Professor Gil Bohrer has been named an Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) program manager for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Biological and Environmental Research program.
Working with the program's Environmental System Science team, Bohrer will co-write and manage funding opportunity announcements and assist in the selection of projects for funding support. Additionally, he will manage resulting research projects and coordinate other activities related to the Biological and Enviromental Research Program.
The DOE stated that individuals serving as IPAs hold permanent positions at a university or similar academic institution, or a not-for-profit research institution located in the U.S. They would be “loaned” from their home institution to DOE for the performance period, typically one year.
