New grant to transform STEM graduate education

Jeffrey Bielicki, associate professor of environmental engineering, and 15 Ohio State faculty from seven colleges, have been awarded a $2.98 million National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) grant. The "Convergent Graduate Training EmPOWERment for a Sustainable Energy Future" will support new interdisciplinary graduate studies at Ohio State in the area of sustainable energy. Ramteen Shioshansi, professor and associate chair of the Department of Integrated Systems Engineering, is the principal investigator on the grant. He calls this opportunity "a game changer" for students at Ohio State. Read more about the EmPOWERment program in a press release, issued by the Sustainability Institute at The Ohio State University.
