Best Geothermal Energy Presentations of 2013 Announced

Posted:

Professor Jeffrey Bielicki's presentation at the 37th Geothermal Resources Council Annual Meeting was voted one of the best geothermal presentations of 2013, based on content, visual quality, and the ability to communicate the subject matter.  His talk presented research, conducted with Dr. Thomas Buscheck and others at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, that investigates a new approach to producing and storing renewable energy using geothermal resources.  The concept uses combinations of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and native brine along with a unique engineered configuration of concentric rings of underground wells. A link to the paper is available at www.jeff.bielicki.com, and a video explaining an earlier version of the concept is available at www.energypathways.org.
