FPO Scholarships Announced

Posted:

Stephanie Thomas and Chris Volzer, civil engineering students, each received a $2000 scholarship from the Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO) Asphalt Pavement Industry Scholarship Program for the 2013-14 academic year.

Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO) and its member companies, working through the Ohio Asphalt Scholarship Fund and the National Asphalt Pavement Association Reseach and Education Foundation (NAPAREF), sponsor a series of asphalt pavement scholarships at ten universities in Ohio, which offer courses in asphalt pavement technology.

The goal of the FPO scholarship program is to provide monetary assistance so that students can better achieve their dream of a civil engineering or construction management degree. In addition, FPO promotes the asphalt industry by providing an incentive for universities to offer courses in asphalt pavement technology and to foster the development of tomorrow’s industry professionals. The OSU course that students take is CE4552 – Design and Construction of Flexible Pavements.

Stephanie and Chris were recognized at a breakfast held on March 8, in conjunction with the FPO Asphalt Expo at the Hilton Hotel at Polaris, in Columbus. Ohio.

Congratulations Stephanie and Chris!
