Lake Erie Legacy: Wetlands Breaking Down Pollution

Explore how pollutants are broken down in wetlands and how individuals can help reduce pollutants from entering our rivers and streams.  Learn how technical advancements such as Ultra Sound, and naturally occurring sunlight, can break down mercury, pesticides, antibiotics and other chemicals before they reach Lake Erie. 

Dr. Linda Weavers, Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Dr. Yu-Ping Chin, Adjunct Professor, are featured in this short documentary on how pollutants are broken down in wetlands.  The documentary was created by WGTE, the public radio station in Toledo. It is being aired on-line and on the Toledo public radio station, WGTE.
