2010 Duane C. Brown Award

The Duane C. Brown Award was established in 1983 with gifts from Duane C. Brown, Indialantic, Florida.  The award is to promote and recognize scientific activity in photogrammetry. This award is presentually annually to recognize one senior and one junior researcher who has most successfully forwarded the cause of photogrammetry and strengthened the reputation of the Department of Geodetic Science and Surveying in the field of photogrammetry. 

The 2010 senior recipient of the Duane C. Brown Award was Brent A. Archinal, Geodesist, Astrogeology Science Center, U.S. Geological Survey, Flagstaff, Arizona.  Brent received his award on Friday, September 23, 2011 from Dr. Carolyn Merry after presenting the department seminar on, "Lunar Mapping: The New Reconnaissance of the Moon."

Brown Award was Shaojun He, a graduate research associate at the Mapping & GIS Lab and PhD Candidate.  He was recognized for his ability to apply the principals of photogrammetry to the development of new methods for lunar exploration.
