Spring Quarter Commencement

Ohio Congressman and Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, John A. Boehner, delivered the Spring Quarter 2011 commencement address to the largest graduating class in the university’s history.  

The civil department also had a record number of graduates with 77 civil engineering BS graduates, 2 geomatics engineering BS graduates, and our first class of 3 environmental engineering BS students. Of this graduation class, we had 38 students (48%) with full time jobs and 10 students (13%) going on to graduate school. Of these 10 students, four of them are attending graduate school at other universities (University of Rhode Island, Purdue University, Princeton University, and University of Texas) and the remaining six BS graduates are continuing on at OSU. In addition to our undergraduates, we had 3 PhD students and 8 MS students graduating from the department.

Our department joined the College of Engineering Graduation Brunch celebration on Sunday morning to commemorate the achievements of our graduates.   Our congratulations to each and every one!
