Bohrer Receives Collaborative Grant from NOAA

Posted:

Assistant Professor Gil Bohrer received a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in collaboration with Harvard University, the US Forest Service and Indiana University.  Professor Bohrer and Peter Curtis process data from long-term measurements taken in the University of Michigan Biological Forest.  Peter Curtis is Professor of Ecology from the OSU Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology department.

The proposed work directly targets NOAA CPO objectives related to “understanding and responding to climate and global change.” In particular, within the ESSP “Greenhouse Gases and Aerosols” theme, it is addressing research objectives related to the global C cycle, particularly understanding the causes of variability in C sources and sinks. By contributing to improved predictions of the implications of climate change for American citizens, this project will address goals of the proposed NOAA Climate Service.
