Mauger Receives Two Awards at WOCA Conference

[ibimage==598==standard_large==none==self==ibimage_Right]Nate Mauger, undergraduate student researcher at The Ohio State University, Coal Combustion Products Program, received two awards at the recent World of Coal Ash (WOCA) Conference held May 9-12, 2011 in Denver, Colorado.  Nate received the World of Coal Ash Student Presentation Award and the Midwest Coal Ash Association Student Scholarship Award. 

The World of Coal Ash Student Presentation Award is earned for excellence in the field of ash research and given to the most outstanding student oral presentation.  The award consists of an engraved plaque and $500.

The Midwest Coal Ash Association Student Scholarship Award recognizes talented students from Midwest universities who present at the conference.  It is an chance to offer an educationa; opportunity while supporting CCP research and attracting young talent to the field. 

[ibimage==597==standard_medium==none==self==ibimage_Right]Nate presented a technical paper titled “Impacts of Reclamation and Remining on Watersheds of Pre-Law Legacy Coal Mines.” He was joined at the conference by other OSU CCP Program faculty and staff presenters including Professor William Wolfe, Dr. Tarunjit Butalia, and Dr. Jason Cheng. Dr. Butalia serves on the Technical Program Committee of the conference.
