Paula Mouser Joins Department

Dr. Mouser's recesearch includes working with microorganisms to test the quality of groundwater around landfills.  Contaminated liquid that seeps out of unlined landfills can infiltrate and pollute local drinking water supplies. Mouser's research measures the activity level of microbial genes involved in transformation processes to determine nutrient limitations, quantify rates of biogeochemical cycles, and develop methods for enhancing remediation.
