Flexible Pavements Program

Posted:

Five OSU civil engineering students each received a $1,200 scholarship from the Ohio Hot Mix Asphalt Scholarship Program. The students were honored at the Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO) breakfast meeting held at the Polaris Hilton on Wednesday, March 9th. These OSU students included Cody Beucler, Austin Davis (who works on undergraduate research in the department with Professor Wolfe), Michael Rebellino, John Slone and Morgan Hunter.

The scholarships honor the academic excellence and leadership of the student recipients. The Flexible Pavements Program celebrates Ohio's 10 universities that offer hot mix asphalt (HMA) courses. FPO-member companies and individuals support the scholarship and academic programs and FPO's continuing efforts for improved quality in the asphalt pavement industry.

Steve Risser, a lecturer at OSU, teaches the CE552 Construction Materials class that incorporates HMA in the course content.
