Dr. Wu Receives Peck Award

We are extremely pleased to announce that Professor T.H. Wu is the 2008 recipient of the Ralph B. Peck Award from the ASCE Geo-Institute. The Ralph B. Peck Award is presented for "outstanding contributions to the geotechnical engineering professional through the publication of a thoughtful, carefully researched case history or histories, or the publication of recommended practices or design methodologies based on the evaluation of case histories."

The award is named after Dr. Ralph B. Peck, formerly of the University of Illinois, who has served as the foremost leader in geotechnical engineering over the past 50 years. Professor Wu was one of Dr. Peck's early Ph.D. students at UIUC. T.H. Wu made a presentation of his work - Case History of an Embankment on Soft Ground - at the 2008 GeoCongress that was held in New Orleans during March, 2007.
