  • Optimization of advanced oxidation processes
  • Engineered and natural photochemical transformation of pollutants
  • Fate and transport of manufactured nanomaterials
  • Drinking water membrane treatment
  • Interactions between energy and environmental systems and policy
  • Sediment remediation
  • Mitigation of acid mine drainage
  • Coal combustion byproduct reuse
  • Contaminant transport in groundwater and surface water
  • Ecological engineering mechanisms that control the interaction between the atmosphere and the land surface
  • 3D modeling of coastal and ocean surfaces
  • Research on unit processes
  • Environmental studies on applied chemistry and biology

OHIO WATER RESOURCES CENTER

wrc_logo.jpg

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering is home to the Ohio Water Resources Center, the federally-authorized and state-designated Water Resources Research Institute for the State of Ohio.

The Ohio Water Resources Center promotes innovative, water-related research through research grant competitions, coordination of interdisciplinary research proposals, and educational outreach activities.

OWRC researchers work in a local stream.

Water at Ohio State

Led by the Ohio Water Resources Center, Water at Ohio State is a point of connection for everyone working in the water sphere on and off campus. An interdisciplinary group of faculty and staff offer resources for researchers, students and external audiences.

Water at Ohio State is made possible through funding from funding from the Sustainability Institute at Ohio State and Ohio Sea Grant.
