The Department of Civil, Environment and Geodetic Engineering (CEGE) invites CEGE graduate students and advisees of CEGE faculty to submit research proposals for the 1st Annual CEGE Graduate Symposium, which will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 3-4:30pm EST via Zoom (link forthcoming). Presentation submissions will be accepted for the following interdisciplinary themes:

  • Smart City

  • Sustainability (broadly defined, including climate alterations and resilience, public health exposures of the build environment, and energy management systems)

  • Data Collection and Analytics

Students interested in participating should register for a single category by January 6, 2021, and submit an abstract and a pre-recorded 5-minute video of their presentation by January 20, 2021. Submitted presentations will be shared publicly in advance of the event, and awards will be announced at the event on February 3, 2021, after a live Q&A session with faculty judges and attendees.

Presentations will be judged by department faculty using a rubric, and three total awards will be presented in the following categories:

  • Best Overall Presentation - $200

  • Most Innovative - $150

  • People’s Choice - $100
