Automated Passenger Counter (APC) technology delivers accurate passenger boarding and alighting count data, reducing the need for time-consuming on-board passenger surveys. This technology is being used by Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA metro). The APC data generated from these sensors in the lab is utilized for a wide variety of research purposes:
