The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in the field of Resilient Infrastructure.

The primary appointment will be in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering (CEGE) with a joint appointment in the Department of Integrated Systems Engineering (ISE) in the College of Engineering at OSU. Areas of interest broadly include: planning,design, monitoring, assessment, performance forecasting, and decision-making aspects of infrastructure systems with a focus on resilience and the nexus of resilience and sustainability. Methodologies of interest include, but are not limited to, physics-based modeling, stochastic representations, empirical techniques including statistical inference and machine learning, simulation, and optimization. Large-scale network-based infrastructure systems at any stage of the life-cycle are of particular interest, especially energy, wastewater, water, and transportation systems.

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practice position in the field of Structural Engineering.

The primary duties of the faculty position are teaching, professional practice and service. The teaching and service activities will be consistent with the Department policies of six courses per year and service on departmental and/or college committees. The initial appointment of regular non‐tenure‐track faculty entails a three‐year contract, with multi-year (3-5 years) contracts available, if reappointed. 

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for teaching structural engineering and general civil engineering classes. Structural engineering courses may include Structural Analysis, Steel Design, Concrete Design, Bridge Engineering, Structural Dynamics, Earthquake Engineering, Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis, Structural Stability, and Engineering Hazard Resilience. However, the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Materials, Structural System Modeling and Timber/Masonry Design is highly desirable.
