PERMAFROST GEOTECHNICS RESEARCH GROUP

Assistant Professor Min Liew and her research team aim to contribute to the creation of climate-resilient, yet sustainable, civil infrastructure systems in permafrost and periglacial environments by unraveling the complex interactions among cryosphere, climate change, civil infrastructure systems, coastal and riverine systems, and anthropogenic processes.
The group uses synergistic and interdisciplinary approaches to understand permafrost degradation in a geotechnical context, develop research tools to accurately project the extent of permafrost degradation and its impact on civil infrastructure systems and vice versa, and create and design climate-resilient and sustainable engineering solutions.

"I am so grateful for the opportunities I had at Ohio State and truly believe I would not have had this fulfilling of an experience without the guidance of my mentors. It truly takes a village, and I am so grateful that the Buckeye community was mine."
